Alcohol and drugs are not permitted within the House.
WHAT IS JERICHO HOUSE, DUNDEE?
Jericho House, Dundee is a residential rehabilitation House. It is comprised of individual flats, where men can come and stay for 6 months - 1 year in order to address their substance misuse and trauma. Referrals are made by a variety of agencies, and self-referral is also possible. Applicants can be resident anywhere in Scotland.
Jericho House is a sanctuary: it offers a safe, supportive and comfortable environment that gives residents the opportunity to address their substance misuse and the reasons for that misuse.
Our work is carried out in an atmosphere that is as relaxed and informal as possible, where the privacy of the individual is respected. We have a non-discriminatory policy and accept people regardless of marital status, disability, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. The minimum age is 16 years.
Family and friends are welcome to visit and part of our focus is to help our residents establish and improve healthy relations with those they love (and who love them), and those to whom they have a responsibility.
SUPPORT AND FACILITIES PROVIDED
The House is staffed 24 hours a day. All the staff have lived experience and are happy to share that experience with residents. All residents receive the support of a dedicated support worker to help address key issues.
The House offers a range of activities that focus on the promotion of a balanced, healthy lifestyle including group therapy, counselling, 12-step meetings, clinical support, gym, walking, sound bath, music/drama therapy, film nights, quiz nights and more.
There are twelve fully furnished flats, each consisting of a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom, with colour television and tea/coffee and snack making facilities. All meals are provided and served in the family atmosphere of a common dining room.
There is a comfortable room for group therapy and one-to-one work, furnished with all the resources needed, and counselling rooms. Other public areas include a reading room, games room and television lounge. Full laundry facilities are provided.
AFTER A STAY AT JERICHO HOUSE
We have a dedicated aftercare support service to help residents move on from Jericho House to a state of independent, healthy living, establishing control over your own life. This includes helping improve life skills, eg budgeting, money advice, applying for benefits, furnishing and keeping a house, maintaining health and developing healthy social networks.
We help with applications for housing, links to other support agencies, moving into a new home (or back to your previous home). Ongoing support is provided for up to 12 months after leaving Jericho House, along with information on maintaining your recovery.
